The US registry. Filter by recruiting status and location. See also our list of trials to watch on the research page.

Products worth considering

We list a product only when a study or guideline on this site supports the idea behind it. You will not find supplements, detox products or devices that claim to treat POTS here, because nothing we verified supports them. Talk to your doctor before you try anything.

Waist-high compression garment or abdominal binder

In a randomized crossover of 30 adults with POTS, heart rate on tilt fell as coverage grew: 109 bpm with none, 103 with leg garments, 97 abdominal, 92 full.

LOOK FORWaist-high or abdominal coverage over knee-high socks. Measure before you order.

CHECK FIRSTSkip if you have peripheral artery disease or skin breakdown on the legs. Ask your doctor first.

Oral rehydration or electrolyte mix

In 10 teens with POTS, oral rehydration solution raised tolerance of simulated standing within an hour, and IV saline did too. Fluid and sodium are first-line in the guidelines.

LOOK FORA mix with sodium listed on the label, low added sugar, and a flavor you will drink daily.

CHECK FIRSTAsk your doctor first if you have high blood pressure, kidney disease or heart failure, since these products add sodium.

Validated upper-arm blood pressure monitor

Heart rate alone cannot separate POTS from orthostatic hypotension. A cuff lets you record lying and standing pressures for your doctor.

LOOK FORAn upper-arm cuff that appears on a validated-device list such as validatebp.org, with the right cuff size.

Chest-strap heart rate monitor

A meta-analysis of 56 studies found wrist-worn Apple Watch heart rate varied by about 11 bpm either way against reference devices. A chest strap tracks beat to beat and helps when your numbers sit near the 30 bpm line.

LOOK FORA Bluetooth strap that works with your phone. You do not need one to use the app.

Recumbent or semi-recumbent exercise bike

Graded exercise that starts lying back or seated is the strongest-rated non-drug treatment in the US consensus statement, and recumbent work is the usual starting point.

LOOK FORA recumbent or under-desk bike with low resistance steps. Start with short sessions.

CHECK FIRSTAsk your clinician about a supervised program if your symptoms are severe.

Cooling towel or neck wrap

Heat is among the triggers named in the 2026 JAMA review. A cooling towel is an inexpensive way to blunt it on a hot day or during exercise.

LOOK FOREvaporative cooling fabric. Skip anything that needs a freezer.

Shower stool or bath seat

Hot water plus standing is a common trigger. Sitting to shower removes the standing part.

LOOK FORA stable seat with non-slip feet and the right height for your tub.
